持続可能な社会を創るための新技術１：石から紙をつくる。

Make paper from stone.

以前、持続可能な社会というテーマを取り上げた。

そのために、木から、紙をつくるという、従来の方法から、

木の代わりに、石から紙をつくる新技術と、

そのメリットについて、書くことにする。

私は、もともと、新技術に興味を抱いており、関連する放送番組を

[ LIMEXとは ]・LIMEXは石灰石を主原料に

紙やプラスチックの代替となる新素材。

[ 紙の代替として ]

・地球上の貴重な資源である木や水を使うことなく紙を製造可能。通常、

普通紙1トン生産する場合、樹木を約20本、水を約100トン使うが、

LIMEXは原料に木や水を使用せず、石灰石0.6〜0.8トンとポレオレフィン

約0.2トンからLIMEXの紙1トンを生産可能。

・実証実験および品質改良を重ね、従来のストーンペーパーに比べ

「軽い」「安い」「高品質」を実現。

・「耐水性」が高く、浴室や水回り、屋外や水中での利用が可能。

・経年劣化に強く、半永久的にリサイクル可能。

[ プラスチックの代替として ]従来の原料が石油由来樹脂100%なのに対し、

LIMEXでは主原料が石灰石であり、石油由来樹脂の使用量を

大きく削減可能。

・単価の安い石灰石を主原料とすることで価格競争力を有する。

・LIMEXプラスチックを利用することで、環境負荷軽減に貢献できる。

[ 資源としての石灰石の埋蔵量 ]

・日本でも100%自給自足できる資源。世界各地の埋蔵量も豊富で、

ほぼ無尽蔵。

2015年2月、宮城県白石市に年産6,000トンのLIMEXを製造する第一プラントを建設しました。2015年11月27日には同省の「津波・原子力災害被災地域雇用創出企業立地補助金(製造業等立地支援事業)」に採択され、12月17日に宮城県多賀城市と立地協定を締結、2年後を目途に同市に量産工場を設置することを発表いたしました。2015年に開催されたミラノ国際博覧会で日本館のポスターや紙袋をLIMEXで制作するなど、すでに実用化が進んでいます。

In February 2015, we built a first plant to produce 6,000 tons of LIMEX in Shiroishi city, Miyagi prefecture by Tsunami donation.

On November 27, 2015, it was adopted by the Ministry's "Tsunami / nuclear disaster stricken area job creation company location subsidy (manufacturing industry etc. location support project)" and concluded a location agreement with Taga castle city of Miyagi prefecture on 17th December , Announcing that it will set up a mass production plant in the city two years from now.

It has already been put into practical use, such as making posters and paper bags at the Japan Pavilion at LIMEX at the Milan International Expo held in 2015.
