つい先日、親戚の葬儀に出席した。 彼女は、大正時代生まれで、都会育ちで、縁あって、首都圏の農村に、 お嫁に行った。有名な女学校を出て、地元で有名が銀行に、定年まで つとめた。いわゆる、良妻賢母＋たくましく自立した女性だった。 晩年は、近くの人に、贈り物をするのが好きで、人に優しい人だった。 徳を積むと言う事は、まさにこういう人なんだろうな、と思い知らされた。 そのために、お通夜に、親類縁者以外の、一般の弔問客の総数が、 300人近い 数にのぼった。 今まで、多くのお葬式に、出席したが、こんなに、多くの人に 愛された女性は、見たことがない。 肩書きや地位や、名声がなくても、徳を積んだ人はすごい。 また、おしゃれも大好きで、ハナエモリの服が大好きだった。 遺影は、オードリーヘップバーンに似た顔の、洋風美人で、 愛用のハナエモリの洋服で、とても90歳を超してるとは 見えない素敵な写真だった。 晩年、人に世話になったり、介護されたり、ぼけたりするのを 嫌がった。 最終的には、一人住まいで晩年を過ごしていた。 ＊ただ、近く、子供達がいて、行き来があった。 最後まで、政治経済の問題も注目していた。 旦那さんが、病弱で、子供、親戚と同居しながら、 定年まで、 金融機関を勤めあげたのである。 これが、どんなに大変なことか、現在では、 想像だにできないであろう。 旦那さんの死後、1人で、住まい、月に1回は、パーマ屋さんへ、 サークルでのあつまり、食事会、旅行を楽しんでいた。 本当に、かっこいい、颯爽とした人生だったと思う。 私も、最後は、こんなに素敵な晩年をすごせるかなー？ まーとにかく、人生かく生きるべし、素晴らしいフィナーレだった。 わたしも、彼女を見習って、颯爽とした晩年と、 風のように颯爽と、さわやかに、逝きたいものです。合掌！
